Activity: Talk or presentationTalk or presentation at a workshop, seminar, course or other meeting

Description

Part of the MADA Art Forum lecture series. From the announcement: A talk with Dirk van den Heuvel who will present his research into inclusive cities, places that integrate all types of people into everyday urban life. The starting point is his research into the architecture of the postwar welfare state, including Dutch structuralism, the Smithsons and Jaap Bakema. This will be followed by a discussion on his new research project ‘Place-Names’ focusing on the ever shifting interrelationships between queer identities, language and architecture. This project commences with an investigation into the work of Dutch architect Dick van Woerkom, who created a cocktail of houses for bachelors, art collectors and photographers.
