Research interests

I am trained as architect and building engineer and now work as an assistant professor at Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, chair of Heritage & Technology. Early 2011 I defended my PhD-thesis on the replacement of white Belgian sandy limestone. My research interests contain among others history of conservation, 20th century building materials, constructions & technologies and natural stone in particular. I'm involved in education of master students in architecture with a specific focus on intervention in existing buildings in general and building conservation in particular.
