Abstract
The Room-for-the-River programme reduces design flood levels by giving more space to rivers, thus decreasing the need of further dike reinforcements (Fig. 1). The effectiveness in lowering flood levels is computed using 1D and 2D depth-averaged hydrodynamic models.
