Abstract
The paper compares an actual project where BIM was deployed with an ideal process derived from BIM literature. The results of this comparison focus on the use of BIM tools to integrate inter-organizational teams, achieve better alignment of the processes of different actors and make the activities of all consultants parallel rather than sequential. The paper proposes an inter-organizational integrated information exchange structure that supports BIM deployment while improving existing collaboration practices.
